WHY YOU SHOULD BECOME A MEMBER?
Becoming a member of IANE Westman Chapter you will enjoy the opportunity to network with other Westman employers and individuals who have been able to recruit and retain Indigenous employees to their businesses. As a member, you will have access to information on Indigenous Employment Best Practices and various resources to assist you in employing Indigenous employees. All Westman Chapter members are notified about workshops and information sessions relating to Indigenous employment. In most cases, membership provides a discount in fees for IANE Westman Chapter Inc. events.
If you are searching for employees, IANE Westman Chapter. has a network of contacts that can be forwarded to you, helping to attract potential employees to your business. Each year IANE – WC along with various partners hosts an Indigenous Job Fair in bringing employers and potential employees together.
Membership dues are used to fuel change in the Westman region – and this change is designed to benefit Indigenous people – which in turn provides significant downstream benefits for all of Westman.
We sponsor two $750 bursaries to Indigenous students who have identified financial barriers to success
We honour six graduating Indigenous students with Star Blankets and a luncheon meal with a chaperone to celebrate the end of High School, and the beginning of adulthood
We provide a venue for potential employers to link up with Indigenous job seekers
We honour those who have made a difference in the employment economy for Indigenous workers
We actively engage in promoting Indigenous engagement at many levels through membership of other community organization events.
But for us to do this, we need your participation.
These are just a few of the many benefits of Westman Chapter membership.
